Autumn in New England is without a doubt, the most colorful show on earth. Join us as we photograph Maine and one of our most beautiful and diverse National parks which is Acadia during its finest Fall display. As one tour participant so aptly put it, "Acadia has everything" and we couldn't agree more.

From brilliant reflections of blazing trees in tranquil ponds to the wild surf crashing against its shores, Acadia National Park beckons us with its many charms. Molded by glaciers and the forces of wind and ocean, the island and park consist of ancient mountains, clear lakes, a coastline of cobblestoned beaches and rugged granite cliffs.

Emerald green forests of spruce, fir, hemlock, beech, birch and maple trees are intersected by fifty-seven miles of historic carriage trails that are closed to motorized vehicles. With every bend in the road you will literally gasp at the brilliant red, yellow, orange, and maroon leaf displays waiting to be captured on film. There literally is a photograph everywhere you look!

Picturesque coastal fishing villages resplendent with colorful fishing boats, buoys, weathered boathouses, cottages, and wooden lobster traps, are nestled in protected bays and coves.

Cadillac Mountain is the perfect place to greet the sunrise as it bathes the entire area in warm, pink light. Spectacular panoramic views of the coast line beckon us at the place where the sun first strikes its golden rays on the continental U.S.

The photo opportunities are endless as we practice our macro close-up skills with patterns of fallen leaves, frost covered berries, ferns, lichen, mushrooms and dew drops clinging to spider webs.

We will visit Jordan and Bubble Pond, Otter Cliffs, Bass Head Lighthouse and the charming villages of Bernard and Southwest Harbor.

Leaving Bar Harbor, we will journey south down the Maine coast stopping at charming seaside hamlets, reflecting ponds, a great cemetery and the spectacular Marshall Point and Pemaquid Point lighthouses.

No trip to Maine would be complete without a terrific lobster dinner as the fishermen pluck them from the sea right before our eyes. This is New England at its finest!

These are long days that start at sunrise and end in late afternoon or sunset. We have a hearty breakfast after our sunrise shoots, lunch on some days and a good, relaxing dinner.

"A Magical Moment in Maine."

"I really appreciate the detail to which you critique your student's work. This is just one of the things that makes your workshops really special. Can't wait until the next one." Maine & Acadia, 2002, S. Scheele, CO

"I wanted to thank you again for going above and beyond and making the experience a very special one. The week certainly exceeded my expectations both in the photographic opportunities and the mentoring provided by you." Maine & Acadia, '07, M. Levin, AZ

"Your energy and photography have opened doors with people, making absolutely magical moments. You have the Universe on your side and I always walk away with images that knock people over." Maine & Acadia, '07, J. Slater, NC

"I enjoyed every minute and feel that I learned a lot and love photography more and more." Maine, 09, P. Crowell, CA

"This workshop was a great photo adventure and experience. The group was great and very willing to work with each other. I watched all the participants and learned from them what they saw vs what I was seeing. This kind of learning is only present when there is a group activity. Of course, the leader went out of her way to make sure we all saw great photo-ops. It was our responsibility to maximize them. She was a great teacher to those not totally familiar with their equipment. Thanks for a great, fun and productive photo trip led by my favorite tour leader." Maine, 09, A. Sieg, NY
