Spend a long weekend photographing an assortment of great locales along the Big Sur coastline with its rocky shores, waterfalls, forests, wildflowers, mountains and sea. We spend 2 nights in Big Sur where we will be ideally located to photograph Pfeiffer Beach, McWay Falls, green forests, Bixby Bridge and one spectacular seascape after another.

Moving to Monterey for our last two nights, we will photograph the "greatest meeting of land and water in the world"- Point Lobos in Carmel. This quote has always been credited to Robert Louis Stevenson but the statement was made by artist Francis McComas (1875-1938), who came to the area from Australia to paint.

Pt. Lobos has the most unusual rock formations and patterns imaginable along with crashing waves and beautiful vistas. If you like patterns and abstracts you will be in photo heaven. We will catch each sunset at the water's edge at Pacific Grove, and will also do late afternoon photography at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey to capture the myriad of boat reflections and color. We will visit the world famous Carmel Mission and end the tour at our favorite spot for frisky little otters.

You will learn not only how to take an effective landscape photo but how to look for abstract and graphic patterns in nature.

Come and experience one of the most beautiful places on earth and a favorite of both Edward Weston and Ansel Adams.

"This tour was remarkable for the wide diversity of photo opportunities including ocean shots with floral grounds, great sand and rock patterns, night shooting at Fisherman’s Wharf, and sea lions. The tour had a well organized schedule with little wasted time between shooting locations." Big Sur '09, S. Scheele, CO

"I can't thank you enough for sharing your art, your eye, your wacky sense of humor, and most importantly your reflections - in more ways than one. What a magical week! I will treasure it." Big Sur, '10, P. Bond, Ga.
